Frequently Asked Questions

Choose a question below:

1. How long will it take before I can get a job in IT?

A: This would depend on which programme you choose and whether you will be studying full time or part time. It would be advisable to speak to one of our careers consultants so that they can look at your circumstances and give you a realistic time scale on how quickly we can get you working in IT.

If you choose to study full-time, your first block of training typically takes three weeks after which you will be considered employable.

2. What do I need to do to start working in IT?

A: Although it is possible to start working in IT without certification, if you want to progress quickly then you will need to have the certifications and work experience that employers are seeking. At Joskos we can provide you with both, so you can reach your ideal role in the shortest possible time.

3. How hard is it to work in IT?

A: With the right training and study, learning IT is NO different than learning any new skill. Also it’s easier to find work in IT than most other industries – with the current shortage of IT professionals, people who are certified with work experience are finding work even easier, as well as increasing their overall salary package.

4. Can I work in IT without getting certifications?

A: Yes is the simple answer, you may get a basic low-paid entry level role without a certification. However, employers are more likely to go with a candidate that has a certification than one who doesn’t. It also allows you to earn more money and move up the career ladder faster. The small time that you invest now will allow you to reach your goals much sooner.
